On March 14, 2017 (Pi Day), we launched our walkSTEM initiative for the public and a few weeks before we gathered with our volunteers and docents in the Arts District. Since then, we have been growing and have reached a good many people in the Dallas area and all over the world! We are so thankful for everyone who has been apart of walkSTEM, either as a docent, volunteer, or a participant! We also are excited about the new and exciting things coming our way this year! We’d love to hear from you if you’ve been on a walk with us at any location – NorthPark Center, Dallas Arts District, Dallas City Hall Plaza, Dallas Public Library, First Lego League Championship (organized by Perot at Parish Episcopal School) or with our student affiliates, the after-school walkSTEM clubs! Tell us what you’ve been seeing since then – what interesting STEAM objects and phenomena have you noticed in your world? Share your pictures and videos. Use #IwalkSTEM.
To celebrate our big year, we had a small gathering with our docents at the SMU Annette Simmons Building. It was a fun and insightful filled evening. You can take a look at the moving pictures below! Thank you to our community partner, SMU Simmons for hosting us!
